Ceramic Woodland Tree Trunk Pitcher with Relief Mushroom and Oak Leaf Decoration
Description
A ceramic pitcher of relief-molded earthenware construction modeled in the form of a textured tree trunk. The vessel features a cream-colored glaze with a bark-like surface and a branch-style handle. The body is decorated with high-relief hand-painted motifs including brown mushrooms with white spots, acorns, and oak leaves in autumnal shades of orange, yellow, and green. Several circular motifs represent cut branch ends with growth ring details. On one of the larger circular branch-end motifs is a hand-painted brown mark consisting of a character resembling a Y followed by a series of vertical and angled strokes; these marks are not legible as a name. No other backstamps, factory marks, or labels are visible on the surfaces shown.
Condition report:
The pitcher is in good overall condition. There are no chips, cracks, or visible repairs to the rim, spout, or handle (photo 1). The relief-molded elements appear intact without loss to the painted finish or ceramic body (photo 2).
