Description
A single circular porcelain decorative plate manufactured by Heinrich & Co., Selb, Bavaria, Germany. The plate features a central polychrome transfer-printed scene of a period automobile, specifically identified by the inscription “Panhard-Levassor 1895.” The scene depicts the dark-bodied vehicle with yellow wheels and green upholstery, accompanied by two figures in period attire. The plate’s rim is finished with a broad teal-colored border decorated with gilt foliate scrollwork. The reverse bears a green printed manufacturer’s mark consisting of a crowned “H&C” above the text “SELB BAVARIA GERMANY” and the script signature “Heinrich.” Measures approximately 10″ diameter.
