Description
A collection of vintage lantern-style chandeliers and components constructed of cast brass or a brass-toned metal alloy and faceted crystal prisms. The primary fixture features a cylindrical cage form with six ornate vertical stanchions topped by foliate scrolled elements. The body is draped with multiple graduated tiers of octagonal faceted crystal beads suspended from circular brass rings. The chandelier is held by three decorative chains gathered at a central stem and connected to an ornate circular ceiling canopy with radial motifs. Internal light sockets are visible within the central cage. The lot includes additional matching components comprising two large circular decorative metal caps with radial feather or leaf designs and beaded borders, along with associated chain lengths and cage frameworks for additional fixtures. No maker marks, labels, or signatures are visible on any of the items. This item consists of two like chandeliers connected by chain.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces exhibit a darkened aged patina with areas of surface oxidation and minor green verdigris consistent with age (photo 1). The faceted crystal beads appear generally intact but show accumulated dust (photo 2). The additional components in storage show surface wear and age-related darkening (photo 3). The electrical components and wiring are untested.
