Cast Stone Religious Garden Plaque with Butterfly and Floral Relief
Description
A rectangular decorative plaque of cast stone or concrete construction featuring an antiqued ocher-colored finish. The left portion of the plaque displays a high-relief design of a scrolling vine adorned with multi-petaled flowers, leaves, and a large butterfly. The right side features a recessed rectangular panel containing an inspirational quote from the Bible. The text, rendered in a combination of script and serif block letters, reads: Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things, love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:7-8. No maker marks, signatures, or country-of-origin labels are visible on the front surface of the piece.
Condition report:
The plaque exhibits significant signs of wear and age. A prominent structural crack extends through the upper left corner and continues through the floral relief (photo 1). The surface shows overall weathering, including pitting and minor chipping to the raised relief elements, consistent with long-term exposure to outdoor elements.
