Description
A hand-blown and hand-formed abstract studio glass sculpture. The piece is constructed from clear glass with an organic, fluid silhouette. It features a solid, flared base that tapers into a narrow, twisted neck, culminating in a complex, multi-lobed upper section characterized by irregular open-work forms and hollow recesses. The sculpture is decorated with thin, internal threads of red, black, and dark green glass that follow the contours of the twisted body. This internal decoration is trapped within the clear glass, catching light through the various facets and curves of the form. No marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the base or body of the sculpture.
Condition report:
The sculpture is in good overall condition. The clear glass shows no evidence of chips, cracks, or surface bruising. Small bubbles and minor inclusions, typical of hand-blown glass, are present throughout the body (photo 1). No significant shelf wear is visible on the underside of the base (photo 2).
