Ornate Rococo Revival Style Hand-Painted Ceramic Vase with Floral Decoration
Description
A glazed ceramic vase executed in an ornate Rococo Revival style. The piece features a ruffled, shell-like globular body supported by a flared and scalloped pedestal base. Two elaborate, scrolled, and pierced handles connect the flared, irregularly scalloped neck to the central body. The vessel is finished with a high-gloss cream-colored glaze with light green accents applied to the handles, base, and rim. The body is decorated on both sides with hand-painted floral motifs depicting purple violets with yellow centers and green foliage. No printed or impressed marks, labels, or signatures are visible on the exterior of the piece.
Condition report:
Multiple dark brown spots and areas of localized staining are visible on the cream-colored glaze, notably on the side shown in photo 2. General surface grime is present throughout. No major chips, cracks, or repairs are visible on the complex ruffled edges or handle structures in the provided images (photo 1, photo 2).
