A Set of Eight Black Ceramic Dinnerware Pieces with Organic Rims and Leaf Decoration
Description
This set of eight contemporary ceramic dinnerware pieces features an organic, asymmetrical design with a light-colored stoneware body. The exterior and interior surfaces are finished in a dark charcoal to black semi-matte glaze. The interior of the bowl and the center of the plates are decorated with a subtle, darker leaf or bamboo-like motif likely applied under a satin-finish glaze. The pieces are characterized by irregular, undulating rims and a hand-formed aesthetic. The set consists of one large serving bowl, four medium square-format plates, and three large square-format plates. There are no manufacturer marks, signatures, or backstamps visible on the pieces. A blue mug with a white tag marked 44 in the background is not part of this set.
Condition report:
The set shows signs of wear and multiple rim chips visible in the photograph. Small chips are present on the left edges of the first and third medium plates in the stack. The top large dinner plate has a chip on the left edge, and the bottom large dinner plate has a chip on the right edge. Surface scratching and minor glaze wear consistent with use are present throughout the set.
