Description
A pair of contemporary studio pottery chambersticks crafted by Brad Abernathy, dated 2005. The hand-thrown earthenware pieces feature a rustic, high-fired, variegated glaze combining earthy tans and browns with an opaque, mottled grayish-green glaze. Each piece is formed with a wide, shallow drip pan base, a central tapered candle socket, and a tall, looping strap handle. The handle of the left stick is decorated with applied ridges. The base of one item is incised with the artist’s signature and date, reading BRAD Abernathy 2005, along with a stylized mark.
