Description
A single vintage sculpture attributed to Penellen, dating to 1973. The figure depicts a standing youth or child executed in a stylized, folk art manner. The material is heavily textured terracotta or clay composition, finished with a matte, light tan coating. The figure is dressed in a heavy, high-collared jacket or parka, with one hand holding the collar closed. The back of the figure bears impressed markings consistent with the artist’s signature and date: “Penellen ’73.” The web intelligence consensus identifies this type of work as a signed, one-of-a-kind (OOAK) terracotta art piece. Measures approximately 17″ tall.
