Lot 8:
Description
A single Chinoiserie style porcelain table lamp, likely dating to the Mid-20th Century. The lamp features a vase or ginger jar form body constructed from white glazed porcelain. The body is decorated in polychrome enamels in a style often associated with the ‘Tobacco Leaf’ pattern, featuring a detailed bird perched among large, stylized leaves and floral motifs. The palette includes vibrant tones of blue, teal, yellow, orange, red, and purple. The foot of the porcelain body is encircled by a continuous blue and white geometric key or fret border. The porcelain is mounted on a dark circular base, possibly wood or composite material, and is topped with a brass-toned socket assembly. A coiled beige electrical cord is attached. From base to socket is 10″.
