Lot 70:
Description
A singular novelty bank crafted from painted ceramic or earthenware, designed in the highly kitschy form of a personified purple eggplant (aubergine). The figure stands on dark green boots and wears a striped collar. The face is stylized with painted features including wide eyes, a prominent white nose, and an open mouth displaying a red tongue. Adding to the whimsical design, the arms are kinetic, represented by painted green hands pointing outward, attached to the body via exposed coiled metal springs. A horizontal coin slot is located on the back of the figure. The base features an opening fitted with a black plastic stopper for coin retrieval. Measures approximately 8.5″ tall.
