Lot 68:
Description
A large, four-section breakfront china cabinet, by Drexel, and executed in the George III revival style. The cabinet is constructed of wood with a deep reddish-brown, mahogany-toned finish, featuring highly figured or burled veneer panels on the lower doors and likely incorporating inlaid detailing consistent with the maker’s known production. The upper display section features four separate doors, each fitted with arched (ogee) glass panels and containing interior glass shelving. The lower section comprises four corresponding storage compartments, each accessed by a single paneled door. All eight doors are secured with ornate brass-toned hardware, including decorative escutcheons and drop pulls. The cabinet is designed in a traditional revival style, likely dating to the mid-to-late 20th century. Pick-up in Winterville, GA.
