Description
A two-part breakfront china cabinet attributed to Councill Craftsmen, executed in the George III or Federal style. The cabinet is constructed of mahogany or mahogany-veneered wood. The upper display section features four separate compartments, each enclosed by a door fitted with a clear glass panel defined by a distinct, repeating Gothic or ogee arch design. This upper section includes internal glass shelving and is topped with a cornice featuring dentil molding. The lower base section comprises four storage doors fitted with highly figured, possibly flame-grain or burled, mahogany veneer panels. All eight doors utilize matching brass-toned pulls and keyhole escutcheons.
