Lot 64:
Description
An antique Singer treadle sewing machine unit, consisting of a black-painted cast iron machine head recessed into a dark-stained wooden cabinet table. The unit is supported by an ornate cast iron treadle stand featuring scrolling supports. The filigree foot pedal incorporates a repeated heart motif design. The sewing machine arm bears a circular brass identification plate marked “SINGER MFG CO.” surrounding the central ‘S’ emblem, and the text “NEW YORK.” The consensus from market research indicates this is a typical Industrial Age Singer machine. The wood machine cover is not intact and may be missing a small section
