Lot 58:
Description
A single miniature globular ceramic bottle, likely a novelty spirit decanter associated with the Calvados Morin apple brandy producer. The body is constructed from matte, dark brown stoneware or terracotta. The surface features extensive bas-relief decoration depicting foliage and fruit, suggesting an apple motif, wrapped around the circumference. A central molded banner across the body displays the impressed capitalized text ALVADOS MORIN. The bottle has a short, flared neck which retains a partial application of a glossy black glaze. The base of the bottle is reported to bear a 70 marking. Measures approximately 7″ tall.
