Laughing Buddha and Dragon Resin Figurine
Description
This decorative figurine features a seated Budai, the Laughing Buddha, shown with a prominent belly and a wide smile. The figure holds a string of prayer beads and a small bowl, and is entwined with a large Chinese dragon. The dragon is rendered with detailed scales and whiskers, and its lower claw holds a smooth sphere. The figurine is made of a cream-colored composite resin designed to mimic carved bone or ivory, with a matte finish and dark wash in the recessed areas to accentuate the sculptural depth. A white rectangular paper tag is attached to the figurine with a white string, but the text on the tag is not legible. No maker name, signatures, or manufacturer marks are visible on the exterior surfaces.
