Large Mid Century Modern Pulegoso Art Glass Console Bowl with Oxblood Rim
Description
A large hand blown art glass console bowl of squarish form with four rounded corners. The vessel is executed in a vibrant turquoise blue glass featuring a dense and uniform field of controlled bubbles, a technique known as pulegoso. The corners are finished with shallow impressed circular dimples. A thin contrasting wrap of dark red or oxblood colored glass defines the rim. The bowl sits on a low applied circular foot. The underside of the base shows a circular area of grayish white adhesive residue (photo 2), likely the remains of a former paper label. There are no readable maker marks, signatures, or symbols visible on the piece. The center of the base features a ground and polished pontil scar.
Condition report:
The bowl is in good condition. There are light scattered surface scratches to the interior well consistent with age and utility (photo 1). The base retains adhesive residue from a previous label (photo 2). No chips, cracks, or repairs are visible.
