Three General Electric Cast Aluminum and Glass Cobra Head Street Lights
Description
Three industrial street light luminaires, commonly referred to as cobra head fixtures. Each unit is constructed with a cast aluminum housing finished in weathered gray and features a large, clear prismatic glass refractor lens designed for light diffusion. The top and bottom units feature a cast circular monogram mark containing the stylized script letters G and E. The housings include several circular and oval cast details on the upper surface. The top and bottom units are marked with yellow adhesive labels printed with the number 25, and the middle unit features a partial yellow adhesive label showing the number 10. These units were originally designed for high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps and are salvaged industrial components intended for repurposing or restoration.
Condition report:
All three units are in salvaged, used condition with significant surface oxidation, grime, and minor abrasions consistent with long-term outdoor exposure (photo 1). The prismatic glass refractor lenses are largely intact but exhibit surface dirt and minor pitting. The front metal latch is missing from one unit (photo 1). The adhesive utility labels are worn, faded, and peeling. The fixtures are untested and will require professional rewiring or conversion for residential or decorative use.
