Description
A ceramic Rebecca jug, possibly Williamsburg Pottery, featuring a distinctive drip glaze technique. The piece is characterized by an ovoid body resting on a flared foot, and a trefoil-pinched rim connected to the shoulder by a high, looping handle. The pottery is covered in a thick, highly crackled glaze (craquelure) displaying mottled coloration primarily in verdigris green, deep maroon, and ochre tones. This form is commonly known as a Rebecca pitcher or jug.
