Description
A contemporary studio pottery handled bowl attributed to potter Jerry Pruitt of Thou Art Studio. The vessel is constructed from wheel-thrown stoneware, featuring a deep, rounded body supported by an unglazed foot. The form includes two opposing loop handles and an applied horizontal clay ridge wrapping around the upper section of the body. The piece is finished with a thick, glossy, mottled glaze predominantly in shades of dark teal and sea green, which pools into darker tones, contrasting sharply with the exposed reddish-brown clay foot. The base is unglazed and exhibits visible concentric throwing rings, incised with the maker’s marks reading J Pruiit and Art Thou. consistent with works by Jerry Pruitt Thou Art. Measures approximately 10″ across.
