Description
A single circular decorative wall plaque crafted in a rustic folk art style, by Jason M. Smith. The plaque is executed on a wood panel utilizing the technique of pyrography (wood burning) to outline the central subject, a rooster shown in profile. Applied coloring highlights the background in vibrant tones of yellow, orange, and blue, suggesting a sunrise or sunset. The rooster’s plumage is detailed using contrasting natural wood grain tones, supplemented by applied greens, grays, and purples. The circular edge of the plaque is finished with a thick border of natural fiber twine or jute rope, which also forms the hanging loop. Measures approximately 8″ across.
