Lot 30:
Description
This is a single glazed ceramic pedestal bowl or compote, executed in a modern studio pottery style. The form features a wide, shallow mouth supported by a constricted, multi-lobed or tiered hourglass-shaped stem. The stoneware body is covered in a thick, variegated glaze displaying mottled tones of pale grey, lavender, and dark blue/black streaks. The glaze application suggests a contemporary or studio aesthetic. The underside of the foot is unglazed, revealing the buff-colored clay body. No visible maker’s marks, signatures, or inscriptions are present. Approximately 6″ tall.
