Lot 19:
Description
A pair of individual serving dishes, likely ceramic or porcelain, manufactured by Goldcastle in Japan. Each dish is molded in a deep oval shape, stylized to resemble a seashell. The body is finished with a white glaze. The rim is deeply scalloped and ruffled, accented with a thin band of gold trim. The interior center of each dish features a low-relief spiral design. The base of one dish is stamped with a circular manufacturer’s mark in red, featuring a castle graphic centered between the text GOLDCASTLE (above) and MADE IN JAPAN (below). The style is consistent with mid-20th century Japanese imports. Approximately 3″ diameter.
